Light up the world, one community at a time with Jovie Gil Montajes who founded Light of Hope PH.
Light of Hope's CloudgridProject empowers off-grid communities in Philippines to take charge of their future with micro-entrepreneurship and push for global change.
He is currently piloting Cloudgrid 2.0 in selected communities and it is surreal to see how far he has come. Before this, his CloudGrid v1 is solar powered, can power USB devices, and has built-in IoT technology that monitors energy consumption, leverages on location data, and has IoT sensors. With data at his finger tips, he is able to measure the impact that he is making and fine-tune his impact-making process even before having his coffee!
Cloudgirl v1 helps communities to move away from kerosene lamps and candles. With the savings from the Cloudgrid that is powered by solar energy, families are able to direct those expenses to foods and basic needs. Furthermore, each Cloudgrid v1 units can potentially reduce / avoid 130 kg of CO2 emissions per year!
What is their goal for 2021?
Light Of Hope Ph has an ambitious goal for this year 2021, hoping to build and deploy 500 - 1,000 cloudgrid units that will directly benefit 2,500 - 5,000 people and potentially reduce / avoid 65,000 to 130,000 kg of CO2 emissions per year!
